Tell me your love story! Where did you meet, and where was your first date?
My brother in law told me he had found me my perfect man, his best friend Rob. I took this with a pinch of salt until that next Thursday we went for a drink at the Gyllyngvase Cafe overlooking the sea. We got on so well and had the best time, couldn’t wait to meet again. We will always be grateful to Tom for introducing us!
Now let’s chat about the proposal. Where did it happen, and how did it happen?
After Rob had returned from a 4 month deployment, he booked us a romantic spa break at the Fistral. Returning to our room after our treatments I was shocked and overjoyed to find “will you marry me” written in rose petals on the bed and Rob on one knee with the most beautiful diamond ring. It really was one on the best moments in my life.
Tell us some of the juicy wedding day details!
We got married on the 8th June 2019 at the stunning Pendennis Castle. We chose our venue because we loved the history of the castle and the breathtaking views. A massive plus is the wedding team are amazing and so flexible in tailoring their service to suit your perfect day. Nothing was too much trouble and our wedding planner Trenton went above and beyond for us.
What did you wear, what did you love about your dress?
My stunning dress was by Kenneth Wilson - an Ella rosa style. She was the very first dress Tracy picked out for me and the first I tried on. I knew straight away it was the one! I fell in love with the delicate lace detail on the back and the beautiful train.
Tell me how your experience was in finding your dress at Bliss.
My experience at Bliss Bridal was one of my favourite parts of the whole wedding planning. Tracy put us at ease and the whole experience was so special, just like you see on the movies! She was wonderful with my five year old daughter (who insisted on coming every time with me)and made such a fuss of her which really helped me relax. I can't recommend Bliss Bridal enough!
The big “I do!”- Who walked you down the aisle, and what music did you choose?
I was walked down the aisle by my wonderful dad. The song we picked was “All of me,' by John Legend and was played live by the harpist Alice Wall ( Harpist by the Sea).
What was the style of your wedding?
The style of our wedding was fairytale and romantic. On the day the styling was cream blossom trees, illuminated love sign, candelabra, pale pink Peonies and mauve/grey amnesia Roses. Our cake was a simple 4 tier design decorated with fresh flowers.
What was you most memorable moment of the day?
Walking out after the ceremony to our family and friends in the sunshine for drinks and beautiful live music from The harpist by the sea. Followed by a double cannon fire to signal taking our places for the wedding breakfast
Any top tips for future brides?
Don’t get caught up worrying about the weather. Try to get to various wedding fares for inspiration and ideas. Our one regret is not having a videographer. But one strong tip is to go to bliss bridal for the best experience and advice!

Tell me your love story! Where did you meet, and where was your first date?
We first met whilst on summer holidays from university 10 years ago. I'm from Cornwall and Sam is from Yorkshire but we met working the summer season at a shop on Polzeath Beach. We were friends for 2 summers before our relationship grew! Our first date was a day at Newquay Zoo and a cream tea overlooking the sea at Fistral in the sunshine! We didn't realise then that it would be where we now live!
Now let’s chat about the proposal. Where did it happen, and how did it happen?
Sam chose a chilly sunny morning in November to suggest one of our favourite coastal walks at Polzeath to Pentire Point. It was so lovely and quiet and were wrapped up nice and warm in big coats and hats. I didn't realise he was hiding the ring in his pocket. When we reached Pentire Point, enjoying it's panoramic views of Polzeath and the sea, Sam popped the question! It was a complete surprise and lovely to happen in the place where we had first met.
Tell us some of the juicy wedding day details!
We got married at St Michaels Church in Porthilly which is only a stone's throw from Polzeath. It's a tiny church by the sea and we knew we wanted to have an intimate ceremony, so it's location and size was perfect for us. We had our reception at Trevenna Barns in St Neot. Everything about Trevenna is fantastic, from the stunning location to the wonderful team, as soon as we walked in on our first viewing we knew we wanted to celebrate with our family and friends there. We got married on Saturday 14th December 2019.
What did you wear, what did you love about your dress?
I wore a stunning dress from the Ella Rosa collection by Kenneth Winston. What first attracted me to the dress was the intricate detailing and different lace pattern. As our wedding was close to Christmas I wanted to capture a bit of sparkle and magic to add to the subtle theme we had running throughout the day. I loved how comfortable it was all day and how the soft tulle was flattering and looked so elegant in our wedding photography.
Tell me how your experience was in finding your dress at Bliss.
Tracy you are amazing! I always felt so warmly welcomed and the boutique is just stunning. Tracy helped me through multiple questions and a little wobble and with so much experience and knowledge, she really is the exact person you want as part of your wedding prep!
The big “I do!”- Who walked you down the aisle, and what music did you choose?
My lovely mum walked me down the aisle and gave me away. We walked down to the soft acoustic of Ben Howard's Old Pine. Being so close to Christmas we actually chose Christmas Carols to sing as part of our service instead of hymns. Sam and I walked the aisle together after the ceremony to Walking in a Winter Wonderland.
What was the style of your wedding?
Although our wedding was so close to Christmas we decided not to go all out with the Christmas theme. We chose a lavender and grey theme with hints of sparkle and little Christmas touches such as mistletoe hung above the dancefloor. Our cake was a 3 tier semi naked Victoria Sponge decorated with matching flowers to my bouquet and a sparkly cake topper. We had long trestle tables for our guests with a real greenery garland with lavender and gypsophila running down the centre. Christmas trees were dotted around the venue with twinkling fairy lights too.
What was you most memorable moment of the day?
We loved every moment but we have two favourites that will always stand out. Sitting down to have our meal and just taking a second to look around the room filled with our closest family and friends meant so much to us. Seeing them all laughing and smiling and enjoying themselves was so special! The other was later in the evening when everyone was dancing away on the dancefloor, amember of my family asked Sam and I to go outside with and he pointed over the moors and said "look at that." We looked up and the moon was emerging from the landscape! It was absolutely huge and it was so clear we watched it rise. Lots of other guests came out to watch it too, so there we were just paused for a moment and wrapped in blankets to keep is warm. It was magical and we will never forget it.
Any top tips for future brides?
The best advice would be try not to stress! Enjoy the process and just complete bits of your planning little and often and before you know it you're all organised! Most of the things I stressed about didn't even matter on the day
